Semiconductor detector of energy and incident position for X and d rays or particles, called: Controlled Drift Device. It guarantees better energy resolution and an image read-out time of 2 orders of magnitude lower whenever compared to a CCD detector. Moreover it enables the 2D measurement of incidence position of X- d Rays, it minimizes the number of output channels. The first prototype has still to be prepared, hence the expected performances have still to be verified. |
