Microscopic theories of strongly interacting many-body systems
During 2012, our research programs aimed at developing microscopic
theories of quantum many-particle systems and their applications
to a variety of field -- ranging from astrophysics to nuclear and
condensed matter physics -- have achieved significant new results,
published in leading Physics journal.
Of great importance is the continued effort to promote collaborations
between different research groups. The projects started in 2011 by the
Bologna-Lecce-Pavia, Genova-Torino, Lecce-Trento and Roma-Trento groups
have been further pursued in 2012.
Several members of the collaboration have been deeply involved in the
ongoing effort aimed at developing a fully quantitative description of
neutrino-nucleus interactions in the energy range relevant to
long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. The impact of these
contributions is attested by the invited talks given by
A. Ankowski (Roma), M. Barbaro (Torino) and C. Giusti (Pavia) at the
NUINT (Neutrino-Nucleus Interactions in the Few GeV Region)
Conference, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in October 2012.
