In recent years, the study of plasmas generated by laser - matter interaction received new special attention. Such plasmas are interesting to understand some fundamental questions in the field of astrophysics, nuclear and particle physics, field theory. They have also a key role in Energy applications and in the R&D of new ions/electrons compact accelerator.
From the experimental point of view these studies require devices and diagnostic techniques able to observe the dynamic evolution in time and space of produced plasma.
TRIS aims to overcome the actual limitations of the imaging diagnostic by developing new arrays of SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diodes) and new position sensitive anodes.
