MI: GAUGE BOSON PAIR PRODUCTION PROCESSES AT THE LHC: SIGNAL AND BACKGROUND
SEZIONE DI MILANO
Gauge boson pair production processes provide a clean laboratory for accessing the gauge structure of the electroweak sector of the Standard Model. Moreover, they constitute an important class of backgrounds to Higgs production and new physics searches. Precise predictions for experimentally accessible observables are thus mandatory. This talk will provide a review of theoretical developments for massive gauge boson pair production processes at hadron colliders. In particular, the impact of electroweak corrections on phenomenological results will be discussed. Barbara Jäger (University of Tuebingen)
