MIB: A-TYPE BOUNDARIES IN 3D N=2 GAUGE THEORIES

FRANCESCO APRILE, University of Southhampton: Supersymmetry theories on compact spaces can be engineered by taking the rigid limit of certain supergravities. In 3d, it has been shown that the most genera] of such compact spaces is characterized by a transversely holomorphic foliation (THF). The subclass of manifolds that admit two supercharges of apposite R-charge has additional geometric structure on which I will elaborate upon. For these manifolds, I define an A-type condition on the two Killing spinors and show how to uniquely specify a frame of tangent vectors defined only in terms of spinar bilinears. I will then use this frame to cut any A-type compact manifold along a 2d boundary, and classify what boundary conditions need to be imposed on the field theory in order to preserve supersymmetry. The field theories of interest will be CS-YM-matter theories and 3d non-linear sigma models.
