Fisica Aplicada , PROGRESSES IN PSA WITH NTD-DSSSD FOR Z ≤ 2 Abstract During the last decade pulse shape analysis (PSA) has been employed to identify particle fully stopped in a single layer of material. A few international collaborations have devoted their effort toward the construction of detector systems that make use of this technique. Among them the FAZIA collaboration is leading the way to isotopic identification (6 ≤ Z ≤ 50) for heavy-ion collision with radioactive beams. Meanwhile, GHT collaboration is aiming to lower particle identication threshold (Z≤2) employing highly segmented detector. The common denominator of these collaborations is the use of the neutron transmutation doping Silicon detectors (NTD). In this seminar, the obtained isotopic separation using a NTD-500 micron double sided strip Silicon detector (DSSSD) will be shown.
