LNGS: I. TAMBORRA - ON THE ASTROPHYSICAL ORIGIN OF THE ICECUBE HIGH-ENERGY NEUTRINOS
LABORATORI NAZIONALI DEL GRAN SASSO
The IceCube neutrino telescope recently opened a window on the high-energy neutrino sky by detecting a flux of astrophysical neutrinos with energies up to few PeV. The sources of those neutrinos are not yet known, although a few cosmic accelerators are currently considered as plausible candidates. I will discuss the expected emission of high-energy neutrinos from extra-galactic astrophysical sources as well as our chances to unveil the physics of the cosmic accelerators by employing neutrinos and their photon counterparts. --------------------------------------------------- Irene Tamborra Niels Bohr Institute University of Copenhagen http://nbia.nbi.ku.dk/members/tamborra/ https://irenetamborra.com/
