FI: “PUMPING AND DRIVING IN GLOBAL ADS"
SEZIONE DI FIRENZE
Seminario di Javier Mas (Santiago de Compostela U.) Abstract: The most studied boundary conditions of fields in AdS are dual to quenches in the dual field theory. We initiate the study of more general time dependent boundary conditions which are believed to have a correspondence in physics of driven systems that can be devised experimentally. We will report on two classes of boundary conditions: infinitely slow quench and periodic driving. We chart out the space of stable solutions and investigate the endpoint of unstable modes. This is not always the expected black hole, and pulsating solutions that resemble relaxation oscillations can appear. We speculate on parallelisms with the physics of Floquet many body systems and Time Crystals.
