\"majorana\"The Erice International School of Science Journalism (ISSJ) is offering 35 fellowships for the 2014 edition of the course that this year is dedicated to \u201cTHE DIGITAL WORLD: computing, networks and us\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The school will be held in summer (June 9th-14th) and the deadline for applications has been postponed until the 20th of March. (http:\/\/ericescijc.wordpress.com)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fellowships are aimed at science journalists, science communicators and students in science journalism and communication; 30 fellowships will be attributed to candidates from European countries and 5 are reserved for non Europeans.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Erice International School of Science Journalism is a summer school of the Ettore Majorana Centre and it takes place every year in Sicily, in the striking venue of Erice. The course lasts one week and it is based on lectures and working sessions held by international experts in the fields of science, journalism and communication.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The program deals with general topics related to science journalism and communication, and focuses each year on a different theme; the 2014 edition is dedicated to computing. Fran\u00e7ois Fluckiger (Cern, Switzerland), Harvey Newman (Caltech, USA), and Idan Segev (Human Brain Project, Israel) are among the confirmed speakers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The school is held by the Ettore Majorana Centre<\/a> and it is supported by the Fermi Centre,<\/a> the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the professional association Science Writers in Italy (SWIM)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
