Italo-swiss cooperation: new agreement signed between INFN and PSI

INFN, the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics, and the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), the leading research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland, have formalised a new framework agreement to strengthen collaboration in fundamental and applied research. The agreement was signed on 19 November in Rome, Italy, at the INFN headquarters by INFN President Antonio Zoccoli, PSI Director Christian Rüegg, and PSI Large Research Infrastructure Division Manager Mike Seidel. The agreement envisages a wide range of joint activities, which will cover not only common activities in the field of accelerator technologies and their applications, but also the transfer of knowledge and expertise between the two institutes, researcher exchange programmes, the organisation of seminars and workshops, the development and funding of joint projects, and the sharing of scientific infrastructures and equipment.
