Scientific research is a collective and international enterprise in which different professionsand generations participate and together contribute to the advancement of science, technology and knowledge. Science is based on the experimental method, on data, on knowledge, but first and foremost it consists of people who, every day, through their work, take the frontiers of knowledge one step forward. INFN has a community of approx. 6,000 associates and employees of whom 25% are young people with research grants or PhD or study scholarships. The number of employees is 2,200 (2024 data), 85% of whom have open-ended contracts.
