SOCIAL MEDIA – INFN uses social media for institutional purposes, to increase transparency and awareness of its activities, and to promote the dissemination of scientific culture: it informs, communicates, listens, and publishes institutional content.

The published content includes photos, institutional videos, press releases, service information, news related to the Institute’s activities, as well as opportunities for public involvement and participation.

Through its social media channels, the Institute may share and amplify content and messages of interest and utility published by other users and institutions.

INFN’s social media channels are constantly and systematically monitored.

INFN is committed to managing communication and dialogue spaces within its profiles on various social media platforms, asking users to respect some simple rules:

• Everyone is asked to express their opinion with correctness, moderation, and respect.
• On social media, everyone is responsible for the content they post and the opinions they express. Insults, vulgarities, offenses, threats, and generally violent or defamatory behavior will not be tolerated.
• Published content must always respect people’s privacy. References to facts or details that are irrelevant to the public and that harm the personal sphere of third parties should be avoided.
• The relevance of topics to INFN’s activities is an essential requirement: these spaces cannot be used for non-institutional purposes.
• Each discussion must be focused on a specific topic: all participants are required to respect it, avoiding broad and indiscriminate debates.
• No form of advertising, spam, or promotion of private interests or illegal activities will be tolerated.
• No content that infringes copyright or the unauthorized use of registered trademarks will be allowed.

In any case, if the social media platform allows it, all posts, comments, or audio/video materials that:

• Present inappropriate language and/or a threatening, violent, vulgar, or disrespectful tone;
• Present illegal content or incitement to engage in illegal activities;
• Have offensive, misleading, alarmist content, or violate third-party rights;
• Disclose personal data or information that may cause harm or damage the reputation of third parties;
• Present obscene, pornographic, or child pornography content, or content that offends users’ sensibilities;
• Have discriminatory content based on gender, race, ethnicity, language, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, age, personal and social conditions;
• Promote or support illegal activities, violate copyright, or misuse a registered trademark.

For users who repeatedly violate these conditions or those contained in the policies of the platforms, INFN reserves the right to ban or block (if possible, after an initial warning) to prevent further interventions and to report the user to the platform administrators and possibly to law enforcement.
